Current European research shows that a flexible approach to learning is favoured by a growing number of students who need to fit working life within the framework of learning new skills; in addition, older members of the workforce wish to engage in life long learning. For many people full-time attendance at a local training organisation is problematic due to disability, geographical location or working patterns. The aim of the project is to develop Educational Podcasting (audio/media broadcasting over the internet) to enable these learners to gain knowledge through part-time attendance whilst maintaining the personal support of a tutor.

The six partners, from Greece, Italy, Latvia, Romania, Poland and the UK have met regularly over the life of the project to develop the product, evaluate activities, plan tasks and resolve issues. In the second year of the project, trainees have also been involved in these meetings to ensure the successful piloting of the project. Effective communication between meetings has be ensured via e-mail, video conferencing, on-line meetings and a project blog.

The majority of the podcasts that are presented in this blog, have been developed by the students of the project which have enhanced their technological together with their cultural skills.

How Greek Young people have fun

A very important cultural aspect of the life of young people in all the countries is the way with which they have fun. Greek people have a reputation that they know to have fun even during their working days. The proof can be found in the video below which was created by the Greek team of the Podcasting project and was presented in the 4th transnational meeting of the project in Petrosani.

Dancing in Romania

As we have all realized during our visit in Petrosani, the Romanian people like a lot to dance. Here is a video about dancing in Romania which was made by the Romanian students participating in the Podcasting project and which was presented during the transnational meeting in Petrosani.

calling all staff

Hello to you
I am writing because we agreed to keep everyone informed on the Blog what we are doing each month, as a minimum. So I expect you have all been waiting for me to start the talk for November.
In England we have celebrated an event called Guy Fawkes night, 5th November. Many people attend firework displays and have large fires made of wood. This is to remember an event in history when a man attempted to burn down the Houses of Parliament, he was stopped!
We have about 10 weeks to Poland, so I have been preparing the student tasks we agreed, about women at work.
I have sent them today to Kostas for uploading to the learning platform.
Please keep checking the blog for progress of this event.
Look at the news I have added to the students work space area on the Blog.
Also make sure your students can access the learning platform and the work for them.
We have to make a good start on the work now.
Please add to my Blog so we know what activities are happening in your organisation.
Good bye for now.
